Last August 26, 2011, Isabel with her mommy watched Ang Mga Kuwento ni Lola Basyang in Assumpta Theater in Assumption Antipolo City. There were three stories played -- Ang Prinsipeng May Mahabang Ilong; Ang Dalagang Tumalo sa Datu; at Ang Prinsipeng Duwag. She was really happy watching it, especially watching it with her mommy.

Soap or water

Isabel asked me today, while giving her a bath:
Dad, anong mas malinis? Soap or Water?

I guess, you used soap to clean dirt, but you need water to rinse off the dirt. But still it does not answer the question. Haha I don't know, you tell me :D

teaspoon teafork ?

One night while taking her vitamins, we read in the label, that she should only be taking one teaspoon doze. She asked, why is it called teaspoon? I answered, because it can be used for stirring tea. I think i got a good answer there.

The other day, while eating her pancakes, she asked for a small fork, then suddenly asked what is it called, is it a 'tea fork'? I was surprised, i really don't know :). But her question made sense hehe.

I googled, and some results returned it is called salad fork. Good to know!

Tatay's Death Anniversary

Today, August 16 2011 marks the first year anniversary of my father, Isabel's lolo. Me and my wife went to Bulacan to commemorate it with our family and loved ones. Everyone was asking where is Maria, as she is fondly called in Bulacan. "Ayaw mag-absent", we said. Last night Isabel said, she will not be going with us, she asked her teacher if she can be absent for class, for today, but her teacher said no, and so she decided not to go with us.

My nanay's siblings were there and so with their spouses, quite a lot of people came, including the elders who were there to offer prayers, as always.

When we came home, Isabel said "Dad , Mom, na-miss ko kayo. Na-miss nyo ko?" Of course, yes! :)

During the old times, the first death anniversary, is often called babang-luksa, or laglag-luksa.
